My Poetry

Killing Fields At Our Shore

I couldn't believe his gall!
He carefully picked his way through words,
this man that knows the shades of is.

He was explaining the horrors of
the killing fields on our south shore
as if they had just appeared.

Everyone knows who took the drags
on the marijuana that grew in those fields
and about the snow that blows from the south.

Are we so foolish as to believe there
is no connection between activities of youth
and a multi-billion dollar industry today?

How can it be that the drug barrons
live all over the world but
not in the United States of America?
