When you add your URL to a search engine, do it manually for the best results -- some don't allow submissions from automated submission software. Also, don't worry about submitting your site to every search engine on the Web -- only a few of them really matter. Concentrate on the major ones listed below. These links will take you to their 'Add URL' page:

Remember: only submit your site map to actual search engines and not directories. Directories don't 'crawl' Websites, so these submissions would be a waste of time.
