March 1994 "Getting L1 into The School Spotlight", BEAM 1994 (Bilingual ESL Association of the Metroplex), Texas Woman's University, Denton Texas 76204. Getting L1 into The School Spotlight Secondary Bilingual/ESL teachers will learn how to put the ESL student's L1 in the school spotlight. Projects involved working through classes in English, Journalism, Business, Art, Spanish for Native Speakers and the library at Bowie High in Arlington. Students wrote bilingual articles for school publications, produced bilingual dictionaries, placed bilingual books in the library and developed bilingual publications for the administration.
